Some thoughts on my time in NYC

Thank you for all of you who have been reading my blog. Sorry that I lost some steam and motivation this past month for regular updates. The four 12 hr shifts I work each week have made me want to relax and do other leisure activities when kot at work.

Today is my last shift! What can I say, there have been ups and downs.  Daily tallies of Covid-19 cases and deaths are down dramatically in NYC. There’s a slight bump at the moment as NYC tries to reopen, but nothing like the nightmares of 3 months ago. It seems other cities such as Houston and Miami are learning the harsh realities of Covid-19 outbreaks.

The ER I’m at is seeing am increase in patient numbers and mostly non-covid related. July 4th brought us 3 gun-shot-wound victims and 1 stabbing victim.

It’s incredible and humbling to see some of the research about Covid-19, it seems that every week there is a revision in what is known and not known about the virus with a high proportion of intangibles we have not discovered.

Well, my nurse friends and I did get out to enjoy some of the NYC area last week. Perhaps it was irresponsible,  but we needed the bonding and excursion time badly. Bars were observing mask rules and we wore masks besides the times we posed for pictures. So with that here are some pics.

Your journey continues, enjoy the ride and thanks for letting me get a glimpse into your adventure. It has been fun to watch from the West side.
