Question of the day: What do you think of ellipses . . . ? Leave a comment!
Calleo spent the day settling in to his apartment, getting provisions, going on a run with his friend Super Stan, and getting ready for orientation tomorrow. Here is how it went . . .

Was pleasantly surprised with how ideal my apartment is. It’s only 1.2 miles away from the hospital I will be working at and very suitable for my needs! Here have a tour!

So far, I’m very comfortable and happy! We’ll see if this feeling persists when I start working and have to sleep during the day.
One important task I was charged with by the tenant I am renting from is to put out a plastic bowl on the fire escape stairs so that “Wuhan” and “Steve” the two pigeons can wash themselves and their pigeon babies that they are raising in the window nearby.*
*Correction the birds are actually mourning doves, please see this post: https://calleoscope.com/2020/04/15/wuhan-steve-and-the-rest-of-the-day/
I’m thankful that I have friends and contacts in the city. I’ve been reaching out to high school friends, college friends, friends of friends, and putting together a network so that I can have people to talk with and (fingers crossed) maybe health measures will be relaxed so there can be some socializing down the road. In the meantime, I have plenty of diversions in the apartment, including my wonderful Star Wars Role Playing Group (RPG) where we play as Star Wars characters and go on space adventures every Sunday. Hopefully, I can still stay part of this wonderful group!

Took a look around the neighborhood I am in and it’s very nice. Not as much foot traffic and car traffic as usual, but I enjoy the area already. It’s close to some parks and has a good feel to it.

A homemade mask my mother sewed for me! It’s comfortable and stylish!

Met up with my friend “Super Stan” and went for a nice run. We were safe and socially-distanced ourselves!

Well, I hope all of you checking this blog out are well and free of Covid-19. The upcoming days will probably have a more somber and sobering moments, after orientation, but for the moment I’m enjoying what NY has to offer. Here’s a photo of the Hudson River, which I am close to.

I tend to use ellipses a lot in texting…..basically to give pause…..or to leave out an inappropriate word.
Your place looks cozy. Take care of the birds!

I use ellipses frequently, ever since I learned how to write. I like to leave them at the end of the paragraph to show that I’m pondering one of life’s mysteries. I wonder why…
