Luckily, I have the next five days off and I will need them to feel rejuvenated even though the patient census in the ER isn't as high as it could be. Today was a great day for relaxing. Went for a 5.5 mile run, got 25% off at Staples because that is the promo for … Continue reading That hectic New York life

Burglar or Boy Scout?
Today's work was pretty mild. Yes, there were some sick folks and I took great care of them, but the most significant event of the day happened when I got back to my apartment complex. What I saw was a family with a ladder trying to get in to their first floor apartment. I recognized … Continue reading Burglar or Boy Scout?
Playing the hero!
Hello folks! The response to COVID-19 in NYC continues to evolve on a daily basis. What's clear is how unprepared the Healthcare sector was for this pandemic. NYC is now mandating that all hospitals and most Healthcare facilities have a 90 day supply of PPE minimum. On a serious note; there are many reports from … Continue reading Playing the hero!
A few days off
Hello! I got two days off and am now back at work today! Not much to report, still seeing COVID cases. I just spent some time relaxing in my apartment. Talked with friends watched some movies, played flute and did some reading. Well, maybe ill have more to report in the next few days!
It’s not all doom and gloom!
Hi folks, well this post will cover today and yesterday. I took care of one patient who ended up having COVID-19 and they were admitted. It was actually … Continue reading It’s not all doom and gloom!
Sobering news update
Due to instructions from my hospital I had to take the last post down. I am not in trouble, one of my travel nurses told me that is the policy because she worked today and heard about it.
Here’s where I’m working!
Hello! I think I already mentioned that I'm working in a 25-bed community ER, but here are some of the details. There are no walls between patient care areas, just curtains, so that makes isolation very hard. There are about 7 fast track rooms/ortho rooms that are walled off and contained. Two of these rooms … Continue reading Here’s where I’m working!
Streets of New York!
Hello, I had today off and I will be working the next two days. It was nice to have the day off after my unit orientation day. I was able to do some errands and really prepare myself for the shifts I will be doing. Oh, and something very fortunate happened to me on orientation … Continue reading Streets of New York!
I made it to the Real Deal!
Calleo had a thoroughly busy day. He spent his first day at Allen Presbyterian Hospital orienting to the ER unit with about eight other nurses. He and another travel nurse were assigned to work with one of the local staff members. He was quite knowledgeable and good at his job. It was not an overwhelming … Continue reading I made it to the Real Deal!

Hello, thanks for everyone who is following the stories and asking me about my well-being and how things are going. So tomorrow I am going to the ER that I will be working in for on unit orientation from 0700-1930. Then after that I will get my schedule and start my night shift routine and … Continue reading Going in!
