Update April 16th 9:12 PM: I have my flute excerpt for the day in “Flute Music”
Calleo has been a busy boy today. After resolving some issues pertaining to his orientation at his NYC hospital, things are back on track and he should be ready for his first shift on Saturday or Sunday. Although the situation with orientation is frustrating, the extra time to relax and acclimate to NYC has really helped Calleo feel more at home. Here is what happened today . . .
April 16, 2020: I woke up and was ready to go today after having received assurances from my travel nursing agency that my orientation would now proceed smoothly. After a “virtual” meeting this morning, I decided to go for a run and do some errands.
You can see the routes of the runs I am doing under the “My Running Log” section.
The weather is definitely getting nice and spring seems to be blooming. I’m very fortunate to be close to many nice parks. Lots to see and appreciate!![20200416_111549[1]](https://calleoscope.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/20200416_1115491.jpg?w=676)

I promise to my clinical friends out there that there will be a lot of posts about the situation with Covid-19 in the hospitals. I’ve heard different things through my orientations about what nurses are doing. Some ER nurses are floating to ICUs to help take care of patients battling Covid so I expect that I may have to do that at some point.
The hospital I am working at is a smaller community hospital. The entire ER is only about 22 beds, mixed between adult and pediatric, but probably mostly adult. NYC only has a few pediatric hospitals so I might be seeing some peds; we shall see.
Well, I think the most important thing that happened today was . . . I found my “go-to” pizza place! I stopped for a slice and it was perfect for my tastes. Crispy crust, not too heavy, good coverage of the toppings. I can see myself order a few of these pies while I am here!

That just about wraps it up. If you want to know more about the nitty-gritty details of my orientation then check out “For My Nurse/Doc/Tech Friends.” Also, I’ll be posting some more “Flute Music” later on so remember to check that out too! Peace and happiness to you all!
