False Alarm

As it turns out, there was a reason why my orientation was going so poorly. My original start date was supposed to be April 20th, but then my recruiter asked me if I wanted to start April 13th and I said yes. Well, my new start date was not communicated to the hospital here in NYC so . . .

Frustration!

That means I never received a welcome packet or a schedule or any guidelines except for a first day of orientation sheet that my recruiter gave me, which was not of much help.

Anyway, I talked with the local team in charge of orienting American Mobile Nurses and things are being rectified. I was trying to complete orientation based on emails from another travel nurse that she was forwarding to me and it wasn’t working too well. So I should still be able to get a shift or two in this weekend at my hospital. I still only get one day of on-site orientation so I’ve only lost one day really. Well, time to relax today and start for real tomorrow!
